Happy New Year! Aloha Friday

I am back from our world wind tour of the Eastern United States. We traveled through 13 states, traveled 54 hours in a car, 3269 miles all in 11 days. Did I mention there were six of us in a car?? We had a great time!

Some of the highlights...

My children seeing their Great Grandmothers.
Spending Christmas in New Hampshire.
Playing in tons of snow with their cousins.
Spending the night in NYC and seeing the Lion King on Broadway.
Seeing all the Aunts, Uncles and cousins in New Hampshire, Vermont & Maryland!
It is great to be back! Here are just a few of the 500 pictures that I took.

I took Kristi's advice and uploaded all my pictures to Smugmug! What a great site.

If any of you have tons of pictures and need a safe storage space for them I highly recommend it. You can put my email in wiljen109@aol.com if you decide to try it to save $ 5.00 of a yearly fee.

Aloha Friday question....

Did you go anywhere for Christmas? If so how far did you travel? How many states did you pass through?

Monday starts a new year for Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) So I hope you and your family have been busy making this world a better place!! See you then!!

Thanks Kate for checking up on me! It's nice to be missed!! :-)

We drove to Detroit and back on Christmas, which is a 2-hour trip for us. We didn't pass through any states but our own.

I say this every time, those of us who have the priviledge of knowing our GREAT grandparents are truly blessed, what a fantastic thing for your children.

We went from Maryland to Texas to visit family. According to Yahoo it is not quite 1400 miles. But we flew. It was only a 3 hour flight, but I did have a one and three year old with me, so it seemed longer. But is worth it to see family and for the kids to see their grandparents and greatgrandparents.

We stayed home this year but went into NYC to 'play' after Christmas. I reminded myself the city isn't fun between Thanksgiving and New Years - it's WAY too crowded!

I'm glad you guys got to see Lion King. We took our 9 year old for her birthday this year and she was entranced - I loved the native music! It made the whole musical experience - that and the amazing costumes!

We stayed home. The girls are not good travelers...it takes 3 times as long to go anywhere with all the "I'm hungry/I'm thirsty" whines, "Are we there yet?", "I'm bored!" and bathroom stops.

I think we went a total of 5 miles to my parents house. :-)

We went to my in-laws, who live 3 miles away! Low key, lower stress (but of course not stress free, it's family after all!).

We didn't travel this Christmas. It's too cold everywhere else! LOL!

Looks like you had a great time! Glad that you are home and still have your sanity intact. We used to drive from Chicago to New Orleans a couple a times a year with the 7 kids and by the time we got to the big easy I was ready to pull my hair out!

Hope your New Year is wonderful!

Gosh, my hubby thought we had to drive too much!! We had very short drives and some very short visits! Don't think we will even do that next year!
Glad you're back!
