Aloha Friday- Can you Sew?

As most of you know I have my own Business J Designs. I make baby gifts and other things. I have tried several times to make clothes but just can never get the hang of the patterns and all the instructions. Remember, I had great plans to make this cute Amy Butler Messenger bag? Too many pattern pieces and not enough time.

Well, I ordered this kit to make Abigale the Parisian dress with Amy Butler fabric. It arrived yesterday and I made it immediately. Abigale loved it and will probably wear it for her pre-school orientation on Monday.

(the cute clips were included as a gift from the seller)

So my question for today is....

Do you sew? Do you think you could make this dress that comes in a kit?

I can sew enough to fix things that need mending, but above and beyond that I have not tackled in years. I have boys, so not sure if there is anything I would ever attempt for them. I am always in awe of talented people that can do projects like this. Gorgeous work!

Have a great weekend :)

I sew very little. I make curtains when I am redecorating or pillows and things along the lines of straight stitches. I don't know if I can make that dress.
The dress is so cute and the model adorable!

I love to sew and look forward to getting back to it once I get my new creative space organized.

I have actually made those dresses and love them. I have done regular fabric and pillowcase dresses, which are my most favorite.

Although I will say, the price seems awfully reasonable for that kit and I might even have to order one!!

Look at that A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E girl in that adorable dress!

I think I could make it. I used to sew when I was in high school and over the years have made a few things here and there. I'd really have to dust off the sewing machine first!

Oh she is adorable. Let her know that the Princess saw the cute pictures and said "oh how cute!"

I do sew. Very well. Just would love to have time to do it more.

Very cute - the dress and the model!

Yes, I sew and I could probably make something from a kit. I don't know how well it would turn out though. :-)

Big Fat "No" - 9 years ago, I took a sewing class. I was so very pregnant and I remember making a skirt that was amusing on my ever growing body. My mother was excited that I was going to learn how and bought me a sewing machine for Christmas. Next thing you know it is 7 years later and mom is complaining because her sewing machine is dying and she needs to go shopping for one. Oh, no worries, I have a brand new one (still sealed in the box) that I can re-gift to you. :o)

I can and do sew. I love to sew. It's almost an addiction for me.

I can sew but everytime I've attempted a child size pattern they always turn out very boxy. I've given up. That dress is WAY cute though!!!
