**Update*** Check out the contest at the end of this post!!

I read a great post yesterday and I have been thinking about it ever since. Kristi at Everything pink wrote a post about the power of a Blog Comment. Further down in the post she talks about the random act of doing something nice for someone you don't know.

Today she thought it would be great if someone took this on and started a blog or weekly project of doing something for someone that you normally would not do. I think this is a great idea. I already participate in Good Mail and love sending things out to people. This would take it to another level. Some examples of things you could do:

* leave something for a neighbor

*Pay for the coffee of the car behind you at your local coffee shop

*Send a note to someone that you have not talked to in ages

*Buy the sweet Wal-mart greeter a soda as you leave the store

*Have your children get involved

Kristi had a post today with more examples of things you could do. She said that anyone that wanted to take this on feel welcome to do so. Soooo I thought if all of you Internets were up for it then to please leave a comment and leave your ideas. This would be so much fun to write a post every week on what you have done and then link back to one blog.

All you lurkers who read this blog.......Leave a comment :-)
Wow Lelly has already posted about a Random Act of Kindess. Please go check it out.

Thanks for inviting me over. I'll be thinking on how to enter. . .

When is the deadline?

Jenmomof4 said...

dedee- the giveaway will prob run for about a week or so. But I want to make this a weekly Random act of Kindness thing where people post what they did on their blog and link back to my blog. Does that make sense?

Jenmomof4 said...

Thanks Lelly for being the first to post a random act of kindness.

I love random acts of kindness. If everyone did this, think of the kind of world we would live in!

I once gave a blog buddy a gift card to an online store. Her life had come to a point where she had nothing about"her". Everything was all about everyone else. I felt she deserved a little gift that she could use only on herself. And since I didn't know her in person and only had her email address, it was an easy way to surprise her.

I don't have my own blog, but would love to participate in your challenge. I read Kristi's blog yesterday and have already been thinking about what I can do today to contribute to random acts of kindness. To start with, today, I am going to bring yummy iced drinks to the girls at my son's daycare when I pick him up this afternoon. The weather here is HOT (100 degrees) and they deserve treats now and then for taking such great care of Dane when I am at work!
Thanks for your challenge, and also to Kristi for linking your blog so now I have another fun one to read, and maybe inspire me to start my own!!

I think this and you are totally awesome!! The title of my blog is the classic phrase "practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty"...totally true. I LOVE doing nice things to other people as surprises. Awesome idea, girlie!!!

Okay - since we've been thinking about this the last couple days, it's really been on my mind. We ordered pizza from a different place tonight and I was excited to do it on-line - within minutes I got a call from the DRIVER just to make sure he knew which side of the street we are on (b/c it's split by a huge park). He was so nice and genuine. He was here very quickly and was still genuinely nice. I had already paid his tip on line but wished I had some cash on hand to give him more! So, I looked up a comment number on their website and 'reported' my great experience and gave them his name. It felt so good to do something so little for someone! I can't wait for more opportunities!

Hello! I do scrapbooking RAKs as often as I can. For example in a scrapbooking swap, someone forgot to enclose their international SASE, so I just paid for it. Also in swaps, I always try to double the number of items that we are supposed to swap (instead of 10 diecuts, I'll do 20). I always try to be generous to my fellow scrapbookers. Thanks!

My classroom is (one of)the worst to clean at the school I teach at- with so many 3,4,5 year olds. On days that for some reason the room hasn't been destroyed, or on the days that I don't have students I tell whoever is cleaning my room that they can just empty the garbage,(if it's full) and skip all the vacuuming and stuff. It always seems to happen on a day that matters and helps someone out!

What is Mr. Linky? How do I post my RAK? Will there be an assignment like SPT? I want to get involved with this. Let me know how the blogging aspect of RAK will work!
