Ice Ice Baby and Where have I been lately?

Today when I woke up this was what I found...All the trees had ice all over them and our poor neighbors had tree limbs all over their yard. The kids stayed in most of the day. They ventured out to our back porch to knock off all the ice. Our power flickered on and off but so far we have been lucky...I probably just jinxed myself. The kids are out of school tomorrow but we did not tell them.. I know, I'm a bad mom. I just wanted the calm time of bedtime. I will tell them tomorrow when they get up!!


Sorry I have not visited many of your blogs and left comments. I haven't even posted on my blog in over a week...Wonder Why??

Ice Ice Baby!!

Ice Ice Baby!! Did I just give away how old I am?? All of the kids were dismissed early from school yesterday and we started getting pelted with ice around 1:00 pm. I don't think it ever stopped until this morning. We have about 3 or 4 inches of ice. I went out to take these pictures and I just walked on top of the ice. It was so weird not hearing the crunch of snow but to be sliding around trying not to break a hip or something. I did make it through Walmart yesterday getting my bread and milk. I also picked up some toilet paper on the recommendation of Ella*Bee .

It looks like we are going to get more ice today and on Sunday. The kids are thrilled to be able to use the sleds that we bought last year.

I have to run out and get Milk and Bread..We might have some sleet!!

Living in Alabama for 36 years, if you heard those words, then you would immediately run out and buy milk and bread. You never knew if you were going to be stuck in your house for days or if it was a false alarm. I think it snowed 6 times my whole time living in Alabama.

It was always so funny to rush to the Store to get the Bread and Milk and to discover once you got there that the shelves were bare!! I mean there would be a tug of war on the last package of bread.

So it was so funny this morning while DH was getting ready for work. Rebecca was reading the weather report off for her dad and giving him the windchill, when it would start sleeting and how fast the wind was going to be. The last words I heard from him as he was leaving was you better get some milk and bread.

Snow, Ice and Kids out of School!!!

We woke up to ice and snow this morning. The kids were up and moving early today. How ironic...these are the same children that I have to drag out of bed every morning and they were up before the alarm went off. The weather has been so weird around here. Yesterday morning it was 68 degrees and then today it is 25 degrees. We have ice and about an inch of snow. Today they are saying we might get 6-10 inches of snow. My kids are pinging off the walls!! I will post pictures later today..that is if Blogger is working.
