Works for Me Wednesday- Stationery Portfolio

Since this is the Christmas version of Works for me Wednesday I thought I would post a creative gift idea. How to make a Stationery Portfolio. The first thing you need to do is find a cute placemat that is rectangle. I found this one at Steinmart or TJ Maxx a few years ago and it is a Ralph Lauren placemat. The placemat needs to be sturdy, at least double thick. Take the place mat and fold it in half lengthwise. Then fold it in thirds. Mark your folds with a pin and then sew your two outside seams and your two seams on the inside. I sometimes split my last pocket in half for pens and pencils. I have a monogram machine so I added my initials before I started sewing. I then added ribbon on the outside to tie the Portfolio up.

This is a great gift for teens, grandmothers, aunts, mothers etc. You can add a small address book, fun stationery, notepads, stamps, address labels and much more

I have added pictures so you could see step by step how to put it together. This gift Works for Me!!!

I had posted earlier about what we are doing at our house this year Christmas morning. I was tired of all the toys etc. that never got played with and we are doing things different. Check here to read the post.

I already had a stationary gift in mind for my grandmother (and a tip that someone gave me is to buy photostamps for an extra special tip). I love this idea, and I am not crafty, but I might be able to try this!

VERY CUTE! I may have to use this one this year! I stamp greeting and note card sets for teachers and bus drivers, so this would make a nice package to put them in! Thanks for sharing!

It could also be sewn to hold different sizes of knitting needles as a gift for a crafter.
